Through strong relationships with corporate Canada, government, national media and literacy and learning partners across the country, ABC is a leader in elevating the literacy cause. 
 

Notable Sponsorship Activities

Barenaked Ladies
Family Literacy Day: Launched on January 27, 1999 with support from Honda Canada, to celebrate daily family learning. Family Literacy Day continues to reach millions of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. 
 
Money Matters: Financial literacy programming supported by TD Bank Group, created for the adult literacy learner to build confidence in managing finances. The program is delivered in communities across Canada in both official languages by TD volunteer-tutors. In addition to the core workbooks, the program has been adapted for Newcomers and New Canadians and Indigenous Peoples.
 
UP Skills for Work: Workplace literacy programming supported by founding sponsor Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life and delivered to communities across Canada. The workshops are designed to help learners develop the soft skills they need to find and retain employment and to manage workplace transitions with resilience.
 

Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life Literacy Innovation Award: An annual award program that provides recognition of excellence and innovation in adult and adult-integrated family literacy programming supported by Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life.

 

HSBC Family Literacy First: Offers independent learning modules designed to bring families together to celebrate and practice their literacy skills. Modules are available in five languages: English, French, Simplified Chinese, Tagalog and Arabic, and delivered by HSBC volunteers around the country.

 
ABC Health Matters: A health literacy program delivered across Southern Ontario with the support of AbbVie Corporation. ABC Health Matters empowers Canadians to manage their health more effectively by increasing their confidence when talking about and making decisions regarding health issues with family, friends and health professionals.
 
Ben & Jerry’s ‘If I had 1,000,000 flavours’: Barenaked Ladies donate their share of royalties from the sale of ‘If I had 1,000,000 flavours;’ to support ABC Life Literacy Canada.
 
Canada Post Lick the Stamp and Stick with Literacy: Over 5 million specially created literacy stamps helped raise over $250,000 for literacy field and was supported by over $3 million in donated print and broadcast media.
